The Junior Web Developer & Design Assistant, working within a marketing team, will assist the variety of on-going development of a variety of websites and features, covering the full development lifecycle on both web services and back office systems. The candidate will have knowledge of the Internet infrastructure, including browsers, proven ability in JavaScript, HTML, XHTML, CSS, InDesign, Photoshop or image editing and design skill and commercial experience of WordPress, Extension integration and development with experience in multilingual websites is a plus.

The candidate should be able to work on their own and as a part of the team with self-motivation and ability to handle pressure and meet multiple project deadlines. He/She should be able to analyse the websites and software and work towards enhancing user experience and streamline processes.

-   Aid in the development and maintenance of the company website and contribute towards design and production of marketing media upholding brand identity

-   Development of the multilingual website and manage the translation processes from start to finish, ensuring a smooth transition

-   Testing of web functionality to ensure any releases, updates or changes are fully tested

-   Wordpress management, including plugins, development and themes

-   Loading of website content via the content management system

-   Assist in front end design, bringing ideas to improve the website for UX

-   Support with the implementation of systems development projects

-   Designing sample page layouts to meet a balance between company specification and the end user experience

-   Coding using a variety of application platforms and languages meeting industry standards and best SEO practices where applicable

-   Meeting relevant legal requirements such as Web Accessibility Standards and The Freedom of Information Act 2000

-   Research competitors and keep abreast of latest technologies to suggest new ideas to improve the website

-   Helping to scope and plan work

-   Developing newsletters and creating email campaigns

-   Assist in management and design of marketing material from brochures, digital media, interactive content and general presentation

-   Ensure projects are delivered on time and to high standards, working outside of normal office hours if required
