As the HR Officer you will be responsible for ensuring best practice in various HR areas, which include performance appraisals, employee relations, employment law compliance, reward management, training, etc. You need to establish excellent work relationships with line managers across the Company and provide them with advice and support on the above aspects of HR.
- Initiate, design and implement a performance appraisal system and procedure to meet the Company’s development objectives
- Coach, advise and monitor line managers on conducting regular and constant performance appraisals
- Provide training for line managers on various ways of recognising good performance and advise them on effectively managing underperformance
- Manage performance appraisal reports and generate final decision letters
- Develop and review HR policies and procedures in line with Employment Law
- Ensure all HR matters are handled fairly and consistently in line with the Company requirements
- Advise line managers across the Company on all employee relations issues including restructuring, disciplinary and grievance processes, performance appraisal meetings, etc.
- Draft meeting invitations, attend meetings and outcome letters on behalf of line management
- Manage all maternity, paternity and shared parental leave matters
- Consult the external Employment Law advisor when needed
- Develop reward strategies and solutions that enable the Company to attract, retain and engage employees, which include reward structure, bonus scheme, recognitions and other non-financial reward programmes
- Benchmark reward levels internally and externally; and research market trends to ensure the best reward management practice
- Coordinate the annual pay review across the Company
- Manage and develop employees’ benefits
- Co-ordinate and develop the annual training plan, source / liaise with relevant training suppliers, access funding and write proposals
- Identify training neds and development opportunities
- Organise staff training, workshops and activities
- Deliver training sessions on new HR policies and procedures as required
- Perform any other HR related work as required
- Have sound knowledge and be able to demonstrate at least 2 years’ previous experience in performance management, employee relations, employment law, reward management and training
- Have a degree in HR and/or CIPD level 5 equivalent or above
- Be able to work through ambiguity and create effective solutions
- Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal
- Possess a natural aptitude for building and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues
- Demonstrate a positive, constructive, solutions-oriented approach to challenges
- Have good organisation skills to be able to develop plans and policies; and good problem solving skills to deal with disputes, grievances and staffing problems
- Good presentation and public speaking skills
- Computer Literate, required in the office working environment
- Motivational, enthusiastic, respectful, and flexible in person; possess cultural awareness and sensitivity and demonstrate sound work ethics
- Able to speak Mandarin or a good understanding of Chinese culture would be desirable
