“When someone tells me I can’t do anything…I’m just not listening anymore” – Florence Griffith.  Also known as “Flo-Jo,” Florence Griffith Joyner is considered to be the fastest woman of all time. Her world records set during the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games for both the 100 meter sprint (10.54 seconds) and 200 meter sprint (21.32 seconds) remain to be challenged. Flo-Jo grew up in Los Angeles, California, and is one of eleven children. She graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a degree in Psychology. Her running ability and dedication to the sport landed her an opportunity to compete in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games, where she won a Silver metal.  She then became known a track and field legend and an unconventional fashionista.
