We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to join a fast growing company based in South West London who specialise in performance technology products.
You will lead the manufacturing process in alignment with company strategies and goals ensuring standards of quality and business are achieved and maintained.
You will be primarily responsible for the manufacture of wearable technology products and should possess prior experience in a recent, relevant field alongside production, testing and assembly related processes.
Responsibilities
• Head up and oversee the day to day management of the production team. This will include shaping and planning all production activities, team workflow, team development and performance.
• Responsible for and manage all aspects of manufacture, being principle manager of Contract Manufacturer.
• Planning and management of all inventory, including planning and purchasing through to assembly and delivery.
• Constantly monitoring the production processes and adjusting the schedules to ensure all products are produced on time and of a high quality.
• Ensure production processes, equipment, facilities and the working environment are all conducive to producing high quality products.
• Liaise and work with engineering and sales teams to develop efficient transitions from product development into manufacturing against sales demand.
• Analyse costs on an ongoing basis, and drive cost down activities.
• Identify and evaluate supplier capabilities to maximise business potential.
• Ensure that the production team deploy best practice across the company and to deliver accurate and meaningful reporting on production metrics.
• Ensure factories are meeting quality targets and output requirements.
• Drive initiatives to meet the KPI’s set by the company by putting in place the needed production capacity, resources and systems, including quality.
• Directly manage resolution of production issues so as to minimise impact to production output and quality.
• Should expect and be available for frequent travel to China (may be intense travel in the short term).
Skills & Experience Required
• Extensive experience working with Asian consumer electronics manufacturing.
• Experience working with Tier 1 contract manufacturers e.g. Flextronics, Jabil etc.
• Production engineering or technical consumer electronics background would be an advantage.
• Significant experience working within a fast paced entrepreneurial technology based business.
• Ability to establish process and lead a team to ensure quality objectives are fulfilled.
• Good communication & strong leadership.
• Understanding of the Chinese language and culture an advantage.
• Experience of working with factories in the Far East and China.
