The Modern Language Centre is a large and lively academic department offering the highest quality language tuition in an international work environment. Serving King's students as well as the wider public, we place an emphasis on inclusion, staff development and sharing of best practice. Our regular team meetings and staff fora allow all colleagues to shape our development and participate in the many activities in the MLC and the College.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach Mandarin as a foreign language at all levels on credit-bearing and external courses, and will work closely with the Team Leader, the Deputy Team Leader and the other teachers in the team. S/he will be expected to contribute to the work of the Mandarin team in preparing courses, designing (e-learning) material, disseminating good practice and assessing students. The successful applicant should have native-level fluency in Mandarin and an excellent command of written and spoken English.
