美国冬令营系列报道之拜访寄宿家庭
The United States Winter Camp Report about Visiting
the Host Family
2017年3月18日，19日，美国圣克劳德州立大学孔子学院冬令营的孩子们将在寄宿家庭度过，体验中国式的家庭生活。对于访华的营员们来说，寄宿家庭就是他们在中国的家。为了了解美国孩子们的适应情况，圣克劳德州立大学孔子学院的院长Kathy，校长Brenda以及带队老师在市实验中学国际部老师和吉林汉办老师的陪同下对其中两户寄宿家庭进行了访问。
On March 18th and 19th , 2017, the Winter Camp members from the Confucius Institute at St.Cloud State University will spend these two days at the host family and they will experience Chinese family life. To the campers, the host family is their home in China. In order to know about the situation of American children, Ms Kathy, the Dean of the Confucius Institute at American St. Cloud State University, Ms Brenda, principal of American St. Cloud North High School, and Mr. Charith chose two host families to visit.
3月18日，我们来到了长春市实验中学国际部10年级学生Alice的家，在她家寄宿的美国孩子叫做Taylor，Taylor是一名九年级的学生，她可以用汉语与寄宿家庭的家人们交流。Taylor告诉我们，寄宿家庭的爸爸妈妈对她很好，如同对待自己的孩子一般，让她感受到了家的温暖。Alice还教她怎么写毛笔字，弹古筝，她说她学到了很多东西，非常庆幸能有这个机会来到中国，认识这些好朋友。
On March 18th, we came to Alice's home,who is a grade 10 student of Changchun Experimental High School International Division. The American student stayed at Alice’s home called Taylor. Taylor is a grade 9 student, she could communicate with the host family in Chinese. Taylor told us that the host family's parents are very good to her. They treated her just like their own child, so she feels the warmth of home. Alice also taught her how to write a brush, play the zither, she said she learned a lot of things, and felt very glad to have this opportunity to come to China and know these good friends.

3月19日上午，我们来到了长春市实验中学国际部10年级学生Matthew的家，在他家寄宿的美国孩子叫Thomas，他们给Thomas准备了一间单独的卧室，布置得很温馨。Matthew的爸爸妈妈带Kathy，Brenda参观了他们的家，还亲自准备了丰盛的午餐。午餐过后，Matthew教Thomas弹钢琴，玩桌球，一家人坐在一起，温馨并快乐着。在我们问到Thomas 的感受时，他说，他非常喜欢这里，这里的人像家人一样照顾他，他在这里看到的与书本里学习的中国文化一模一样。他希望能认识更多的朋友，学习更多的中国传统文化。
In morning of March 19th, we came to the Matthew’s home, who is a grade 10 student of Changchun Experimental High School International Division. The American student stayed at Matthew’s home called Thomas. They prepared Thomas a separate bedroom and decorated very warm. Matthew's father and mother took Kathy, Brenda to visit their home and prepared delicious lunch. After lunch, Matthew taught Thomas to play the piano, play table tennis. When we asked about Thomas's feelings, he said he like it very much, and the people here are very nice. He saw the same Chinese culture as he learned in book. He hopes he could make more friends and learn more traditional Chinese culture.

19日晚，长春市实验中学国际部的老师带领22位美国学生与他们的寄宿家庭小伙伴们来到了学生餐厅。今天的晚餐有着特殊的意义，冬令营的孩子们将会吃到他们自己亲手包的饺子。大家都对包饺子充满期待，美国的孩子们之前没包过饺子，每一位营员都跟着小伙伴们积极的学习包饺子的方法。不一会儿，饺子就摆满了桌子，虽然形状各异，但其中都包含着美国孩子们学习中国传统文化的心意。热气腾腾的饺子摆上桌，同学们都狼吞虎咽地吃起来。愉快的周末就这样过去了，期待下周的冬令营活动！
In the evening, the teachers of Changchun Experimental High School International Division led 22 American students and their host family friends to the canteen. The American students will eat dumplings made by themselves. They all learned how to make dumplings carefully. After a short while, the table is filled with dumplings. Although the shapes of the dumplings are different, they also can express their eagerness to learn Chinese culture. They wolf down the dumplings they made. The American students all had a happy weekend and look forward to next week!

另外，其他的小伙伴们也在寄宿家庭度过了这个愉快的周末，相信对他们来说，这是一段非常难忘的经历。
