The job holder will play an influential role in a team that is making a real impact in East China. The Climate Change and Energy team at the British Consulate-General Shanghai sets out to inform policy making that accelerates East China’s transition to a low-carbon economy and increases the region’s understanding of and resilience to climate change. In doing so we draw on the UK’s world-leading experience and expertise in these areas and position UK organisations as first choice partners with key stakeholders in Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Anhui.

Existing priority policy areas include renewable energy, power market reform, green finance and city resilience to climate change. Driving existing engagements and identifying new opportunities for UK-China collaboration will be at the heart of this exciting role. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference addressing some of the greatest challenges facing the UK and China today.

-  Outreach Team Coordinator

To help implement the British Government’s Outreach Strategy in East China. To act as the Outreach Team’s day-to-day central co-ordination point for Consulate colleagues and external stakeholders. This important co-ordination role, based in the British Consulate General Shanghai, offers a unique opportunity to build knowledge, develop contacts and sector expertise, in order to mutually support the UK and China objectives, across Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Anhui Province.
