Australian Math Competition is hosted at CISH for the first time.
澳大利亚数学竞赛首次在CISH举办
ASDAN, an organization set up 37 years ago, is approved by the UK Department of Education in providing skills-based learning for high school students. There are currently 6000 registered centers under ASDAN’s global network and every year more than 200,000 students are involved in different ASDAN programs. ASDAN has published over 100 different kinds of academic materials and is one of the most globally influential international education organizations.
ASDAN是一个成立于37年前的组织,经英国教育部批准为高中学生提供技能型的学习。目前,ASDAN全球网络下有6000个注册网点,每年有超过20万名学生参与不同的ASDAN项目中。ASDAN出版了100多种不同的学术资料,成为全球最具影响力的国际教育组织之一。
ASDAN China was set up in September 2011 and currently cooperates with 342 international schools and key schools within China. More than 40,000 high school students participate in ASDAN China programs annually. ASDAN’s aim is to introduce advanced educational resources and advanced scientific programs to China to help schools carry out various high-quality educational activities and improve Chinese students’ overall skills-based learning.
中国ASDAN成立于2011年9月,目前已经与国内342所国际学校和重点学校合作,每年有超过40000名高中学生参与ASDAN中国项目中。ASDAN的目标是将先进的教育资源和科学项目引入中国,从而帮助学校开展高质量的教育活动,提高中国学生的整体技能学习能力。
AMC
On Saturday 22 September 2018, 59 students walked into the CISH cafeteria with an air of anticipation and for some a sense of nervousness. This is the second year that we have had the opportunity of offering the Australian Math Competition (AMC) at CISH and the first that we have been authorized as an official Exam Centre. Mr. Kosch and Mrs. Viljoen acted as proctors for this year’s competition. The competition ran smoothly and the scantron answer papers were sent to ASDAN for moderation that afternoon. We now wait in anticipation for our results.
在周六2018年9月22日59名学生带着紧张和期待的心情来到CISH的餐厅,这是CISH学生参加澳大利亚数学竞赛(AMC)的第二年,也是CISH获得官方考试中心的资质的第一年。Mr. Kosch和Mrs. Viljoen担任今年竞赛的监考官,竞赛顺利进行且所有的答题纸于当天下午送至ASDAN批阅。 我们现在等待竞赛的结果。
In PYP, Mrs. Viljoen and Mrs. Mitchell took time in the mornings to work with grade 3 to 5 participants and go through some previous problems. Time was spent developing an understanding of the language in the questions.
在小学部,Mrs. Viljoen和Mrs. Mitchell在竞赛之前的很多上午空出时间为G3-G5参加竞赛的学生一起练习复习,花时间帮助孩子们在语言上理解问题。
As this was our first year of being an exam center we have identified some areas we can improve on and look forward to next year’s AMC.
