10月3日收到美国初中寄宿学校协会发来的邮件（详见下文），强调中国大陆的学生并不会在1月15号之前收到录取结果，所有大陆的学生均要等到1月15号统一发放结果。并进一步澄清，去年由于某个机构将香港学生的录取结果提前发放出来而误导了中国大陆的家长。 由此可见，美国小初中对待香港，台湾和大陆申请学生的审理和录取程序是不一样的。台湾，香港的学生会比大陆学生提早得到录取结果，原因何在？需要进一步跟学校沟通。但是，分析最直接的原因还是大陆申请的学生太多了，导致了招生部把大陆的学生的审理放在了后面。

其实，本身美国小初中的发榜日期就是1月15号，所以，大陆学生的录取结果发榜时间并没有滞后，而是，香港和台湾学生提前了。这也不难理解，因为这两个地区的申请人少，很快就审理完毕，而且，提前发榜后，万一有拒绝offer的，还有机会从大陆学生中补上来，也就是说大陆学生可能就多获得一个名额。从这个角度看是一个好的策略。尽管小初中，后面有补录的程序，但是，补录也是优先从等待中提取，所以，最好是提前申请，目前的时间段到圣诞节前夕是申请小初中的最佳时机，请广大中国大陆的学生一定不要错过这个时间。

We are contacting you today to thank you for all of the important work you have done to refer strong candidates from mainland China, Hong Kong, and/or Taiwan to our ten schools. We appreciate all that you do to guide families as they make important choices about their children’s futures.

We would like to clarify what may be some incorrect information about our admission deadlines and policies for international students. It came to our attention last year that an educational consultant posted to WeChat about the acceptance of a Hong Kong student to two of our schools, leading families to mistakenly believe that students from mainland China were admitted ahead of the January 15 notification date.

We would like to reiterate that at all of our schools, the application deadline for students from mainland China is December 15, 2018. Applicants who complete their application by this deadline will receive an admission decision on January 15, 2019. It will be at each school’s discretion to decide whether to accept applications on a rolling basis after December 15.

It will also be at each school’s discretion to determine whether to ask students from Hong Kong and Taiwan to also meet the December 15 deadline, or to allow rolling admissions for students from Hong Kong (citizens from Hong Kong who are currently attending school in Hong Kong) or Taiwan (Taiwanese citizens currently attending school in Taiwan).

If you have additional questions about a specific school’s admission deadlines and policies, please do not hesitate to contact that school’s admission office; we will be happy to help you!

申请美国寄宿小初中的理由：

1. 提前进入美国初中，可以为升入顶尖的美国高中做好准备。

2. 申请小初中无需考托福或者考小托福就可以， 并不是所有的学校都要考SSAT。

3. 申请美高时比从国内申请的学生具有绝对的优势， 小初中的学生适应力很强，可以很快融入美国学校，提前做好了升入美高的准备。

4. 减少由于青春期叛逆心理而导致的孩子与父母间的冲突，初中阶段是孩子和父母最难相处的时间段，而且这个阶段的孩子常常认为朋友比家长更重要，对很多事情的认知尚处于一知半解甚至误解的情况，又听不进家长的建议，所以，给开始进入叛逆期的孩子选择寄宿学校，交给专业的老师来管理和教育，等于家长为自己搭建了一个教育团队，会比自己单独直接管理效果更好。
