The Jury system is one of the foundations of the American legal system. In criminal cases, every defendant has a constitutional right to be tried by a jury. This means that a group of average citizens who are supposed to be neutral to the case will decide whether the defendant is guilty or innocent. US DOJ Resident Legal Advisor Richard Daynes has presented cases to juries for over 26 years. Please join us on September 26th, when Mr. Daynes will explore with the audience the fascinating aspects of the jury system and how hidden facts can be uncovered by average citizens. Some members of the audience will also have a chance to participate as jurors for a short mock trial and jointly decide which direction the “Scales of Justice” will lean.
This program will be conducted in English.
