据英国独立报官网3月6日报道，英国《泰晤士报高等教育增刊》（Times Higher Education, THE）最新公布的2014年全球大学声誉排行榜显示，英国大学排名继续下滑，美国大学依然全球领先。菲尔·巴提强调了投资英国高等教育的重要性。她补充说：“考虑到全球声誉在吸引国际人才，合作和投资方面的重要性。英国方面必须采取有关措施保护这些顶尖大学的声誉。”
