Kurt Geiger supports emerging designers at LCF

Kurt Geiger have announced their support for London College of Fashion’s Cordwainers school.

The renowned British footwear brand are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year, and have pledged support for emerging designers on undergraduate and graduate Cordwainers courses by offering funding, mentoring and scholarships.

What’s more, LCF’s exclusive gala dinner and auction in partnership with Kurt Geiger, Fashion Matters, is taking place on 6 September 2013 at The Mansion House in central London.

The event, which includes a champagne reception, marks 125 years of activities at Cordwainers and will raise money for scholarships, bursaries and equipment to support future generations of designers, makers, entrepeneurs, commentators and industry specialists.

The funding commitment from Kurt Geiger will also see the maintenance and growth of the Cordwainers college archive. The archive holds around 650 items with shoes dating back to the 1780s, serving as great reference and inspiration for designers at LCF, with the majority of items being British fashion footwear. Kurt Geiger’s partnership with LCF will safeguard the legacy for future talent.
