2015年12月25日圣诞节当日，很多人都沉浸在圣诞的节日气氛中。但就在此时，一场极富传统文化气息的读书节之“好书我评说“活动精彩在番禺南村镇上演了。代表剑桥郡加拿达外国语学校参赛的G5A班同学Amy与众多校区的实力选手进行着激烈的角逐。

On December 25th, 2015, Christmas Day, CLS’ grade 5 student, Amy (Ji Jiayi), participated in Panyu Nancun town’s Reading Festival, “Comment of a Book", and she won first prize.

第一次代表学校参赛的Amy同学在备赛阶段压力重重。Amy说：“我一定要好好努力。取得优异的名次为学校争光”。我们一方面为学生有这样的集体荣誉感而自豪，同时也希望学生放下名次观念，培养重在参与的心态面对比赛。所以总是鼓励她：尽力而为，坦然面对。

This was her first time representing CLS and she felt very nervous. Amy kept saying, "I have to work hard if I want to succeed and bring glory to our CLS." We were proud of her sense of honor and we hoped that her nerves would calm down so she could do her best in the contest.

在备赛阶段，Amy熟悉稿件的同时，如果自己发现了不通顺的句子，会立刻与指导老师Ada积极讨论给出自己的意见。Rose作为Amy的舞台指导老师，为了让学生在舞台上表现更加自然和更具迷人的风采，每天只要有空，就会与Amy一起根据文字内容在学校的舞台上不断的练习与调整。只为她能更加自信的站在舞台上表现出自己最出彩的一面。

When she came across difficulties she would have long conversations with her adviser and teacher, Ada, while preparing for the contest. Her other adviser, Rose, gave her advice to improve her body language and presentation-style so that Amy could be confident.

比赛当日，共20多所中小学参加比赛。Amy排在第七位，虽然我们满怀信心而来，但是面对前面六所学校的精彩评说，还是给Amy带来也给一些压力。我们都在旁边鼓励她：Try your best, do your best.

There were a lot of contestants, from more than 20 primary and middle schools, who took part in this contest. Amy was the 7th contestant to present. After the sixth student’s performance, Amy felt very nervous even though we were all confident in her ability. So we encouraged her and said, “try your best. Do your best.”

上场后的她淡定从容，绘声绘色地评述着她的观点，当裁判举牌提示还有30秒时她并没有紧张，反而露出了淡淡的微笑，从容地完成自己的比赛。

Consequently, she made a happy and hopeful presentation. When the judge signaled that she only had 30 seconds left Amy smiled and finished her presentation with ease.

充满自信的评说

最后经过激烈的角逐，Amy同学实至名归获得本次活动一等奖。在即将结束的2015年，给自己，给学校送了一份极富意义的礼物。

Finally, the result of this competition was that Amy deserved to win the First Place Prize of “Comment of a Book ", which meant that she gave our school a special gift at the end of 2015.
