美国总统候选人的第一次选举将于下月开始，新罕布什尔州将举办第一次初选。新罕布什尔州—作为美国最小的和人口最少的州之一 — 在总统选举过程怎样如此有影响力？你对新罕布什尔州的历史和文化感到好奇吗？它是美国建国之初的13个州之一。为什么新罕布什尔州的座右铭是“不自由, 毋宁死”?

欢迎来北京美国中心，来自新罕布什尔州的嘉宾将为你介绍新罕布什尔州，新罕布什尔州人及其文化，并解释发生在2月9日的初选。讲座“新罕布什尔州：第一次初选”将带领你游览新罕布什尔州并探索为什么新罕布什尔州人对每四年一次的总统竞选举足轻重。

This program will be offered in English.

The first elections to select the nominees for the U.S. presidential election start next month, and a state called New Hampshire will host the first primary election. How did New Hampshire – one of the smallest and least populous states in the U.S. – become so influential in the presidential election process? Are you curious about the history and culture of New Hampshire, which was one of the original 13 states that founded the United States of America? Why is New Hampshire’s state motto “Live Free or Die”?

Please join us at the Beijing American Center, where a native of New Hampshire will introduce you to the state, its people, and its culture before explaining the primary election which will occur on February 9. This lecture, called “New Hampshire: The First Primary,” will take you on a tour of New Hampshire and explore why every four years the people of New Hampshire have a large voice in the presidential race.

RSVP is required for this event. Please RSVP to [email protected] with your full name and subject “New Hampshire.” RSVP deadline is January 19, 10:00am. This program is not suitable for children under 8.
