As a Customs & Export Control Officer, you will be responsible for the tools and processes that ensure compliance to all relevant legislation and regulations in the customs and export control field. Additional responsibilities will involve managing the governance of these tools and processes and be accountable for developing methods, metrics and measures that allow us to demonstrate our compliance. This is a chance for you to play a supportive role for our Marine sites, be a source of expert advice and be a key part in the escalation process.

We offer the world's largest portfolio of marine products and systems from a single supplier, ranging from gas turbines and diesel & gas engines, through to propellers, thrusters, water jets, deck machinery, automation and control systems, and even the captain's chair.

-   Supporting third party logistics providers in the selection of customs suppliers (brokers), monitoring and ensuring compliance requirements are met

-   Awareness of developments within the wider customs and trade compliance community, responding to regulatory change and maintaining close and positive links with primary authorities and external bodies

-   Working with the UK / US Customs compliance teams to ensure strategic directions are aligned

-   In addition, you will monitor and keep up-to-date with the customs & export control regulations of all countries with which Marine do business

-   Reviewing in-country activities and seeking opportunities to reduce financial liabilities by maximizing legitimate tax and duty efficiencies.

-   Developing efficient processes and systems to ensure Marine sites adhere to import / export regulations

-   You will be developing an independent audit, quality assurance and analytical capability

-   Building and providing knowledge, guidance on customs & export control compliance matters to Marine, influencing internal stakeholders to drive compliance for customers and suppliers both internal and external through the value chain

-   Acting as an ambassador for customs & export control compliance within Marine, raising awareness of the importance of customs compliance

-   You will identify global training needs and facilitate the delivery of relevant material and awareness programs

-   Establishing a robust customs & export control compliance program to ensure risks, costs and supply chain delays are minimized throughout the supply chain

-   Participating in Integrated Project Teams across all functions and all geographical locations addressing customs & export control compliance issues

-   Assessing shipments sent through all marine locations for export control requirement before shipping

-   Program manage improvements to tools and processes as required and contribute to the development of our strategy for customs & export control in the future

-   Expert knowledge of relevant customs & export control regulations

-   Ability to analyse business situations and to advise on the impact of these regulations

-   Value stream mapping skills and continuous improvement mind set

-   Significant experience in relevant supply chain management roles with experience and understanding of physical logistics tools and processes

-   Knowledge and experience Rolls-Royce Marine business and products

-   International background, Chinese, Norwegian and English language skills are essential and an ability to facilitate communication between our suppliers, customers and manufacturing sites in Asia and the Nordics

-   Analytical skills and data management

-   Ability to contribute to the development and implementation of strategic and tactical processes for customs & export control compliance

-   Degree qualified in Supply Chain Management or a related discipline
