#American Artist - Shepard Fairey 

One of the most influential contemporary artists in the U.S., Shepard Fairey uses art to “question everything” and pursue social justice. From his early graffiti art to his more commercial pursuits in public art venues and museums across the globe, Fairey uses art as a microphone to amplify issues, promote awareness, and affect social change. He first became a well-known graphic artist when he produced a sticker series featuring Andre the Giant called OBEY, an idea he came up with as a student at the Rhode Island School of Design. It was a theme he took up in a clothing line he also started.
