Universities should accept equal numbers of male and female students in every subject. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Universities are educational institutions where peole can access higher education.(access+higher education, 完美！) However, some people think that it is universities’responsibility to enroll the same number of students in terms of genders (in terms of + genders, Again!) for each subject. Personally, I disagree with this statement.
Admittedly,(出现了！传说中的让步段神开头) females have equal rights to education as their male counterparts (高大上的词汇，很好用！) since the advent of feminism. (the advent of + feminism，考官看到这已经在欣慰地点头了。 the advent of 是绝对高端的百搭词！后面一般可接：techonology, alternative energies等,表示。。的到来) Women nowadayds are engaged in every field of society. With better access to further education, they can also accomplish great success as doctors, judges, politicians and professors.
Yet,(强力转折，逻辑清晰) the management of universities should recognise that to enroll the same numbers of female and male students for each subject is not the same thing as equal rights. It would be unreasonable for universities to refuse students who apply for (这是正确的apply 固定搭配哦) enrollment simply (加一个simply j加强了语气也增加了可读性)because there is a proposed number for female and male students in each subject.
In addition, it is also unfeasible (聪明!feasibility是常见的观点，可以基于此form a solid argument) to maintain the same number of female students as their male counterparts in every subject. This is because females students tend to choose subjects like humanities, education and nursing while science, engineering and finance are more popular among male students. Sometimes, different subjects may require students to finish the same fundamental units in order to attain a degree (ATTAIN+a degree!!beautiful!). For instance, students who major in accounting, finance or business management may need to study basic accounting units.
In conclusion, I am of the belief that equalising the number of male and female students would not be egalitarian. Universities would be better off accepting students based on the choices of subjects instead of rigidly following the proposed framework. (words:261)
