画笔绘出艺术人生

--油画艺术家、书法家 莫海祺访谈

淡如芷菊，雅如幽兰，清丽宁静，娴雅柔美。这是对油画艺术家莫海祺女士的印象描写。而观摩她的艺术作品，从油画的层次、质感，到水墨画的细腻、婉约，以及书法的飘逸、遒劲，都显示了莫海祺女士深厚的艺术功底和独具匠心的创意。她的作品，大多传达了对所描绘事物的感受，尤其是作为女性，那种细致，那种婉约，那种构图，那种色彩，都非常生动、准确、真实地再现了原生态的笔触，构图完整，造型准确，用色典雅，色调明快。观其作品，感受画家丰富的内心世界，浓郁的色彩搭配，逼真的写实风格，表现力极强，色泽很丰润。

谈及莫海祺女士的艺术生涯，令人佩服感慨的是，所有的这一切都是源于她的爱好，都是自学成才的经历与成果！出生于广西南宁的莫女士，5岁的时候随母亲到了香港，谈起艺术创作路程，她回想起自己的外祖父，因为热爱艺术的外祖父，常常在家挥毫泼墨，虽然没有跟随外公一起成长，但是假日回广东老家的时候，莫女士常常沉醉于那些艺术的氛围与环境中，耳濡目染，心灵中早已经生发了浓郁的艺术种子，当然，天赋资质与艺术灵感也是促使她拿起画笔，徜徉于艺海的缘由。

对艺术情有独钟的莫女士读书时选择了珠宝设计和鉴定，并在学习设计与鉴定的过程中不断磨砺自己的美术爱好，在设计与鉴定专业毕业后，她投身珠宝生意，负责珠宝钻石的鉴定，她常常感叹并发现珠宝本身的艺术气息，也在业余时间开始自己的创作生涯，她说做生意需要到处走动，并出入各种场合，占用了许多时间；而且要及时关注时尚动态及各种趋势，然后把不断更新的世界前沿的各种讯息融汇到自己的生意理念中，这些都需要很多的精力时间投入，但是她心中一直是有着绘画的想法和创作的冲动以及成为画家的梦想，于是就开始拿起笔，静下心，在忙碌喧嚣的生意之余，安顿好思绪，调理好心态，沉静，沉着，慢慢开始，认真思索，不断探究。然后一发不可收拾，她发现自己对艺术创作有着独特的偏好喜爱，而且只是从临摹开始，她就爱上了绘画与书法，工作之余，所有的时间都用在潜心钻研艺术，花了大量的时间和精力静心打磨，不断追求，终于取得了飞快的长足的进步，她的绘画水平与书法技艺都渐入佳境，并形成了自己的风格，婉约，细腻，柔美，她的作品，有着女性特有的魅力，那些花卉，鲜艳夺目，美不胜收；那些人物，生动传神，静态如仪；那些风情，真挚美好，深意拳拳；那些景致，意趣活泼，妙趣横生；那些书法，工整秀美，功力深厚。

开始朋友们看到她的作品，都赞叹不已，因为他们只看到她在商界中忙碌的身影，没有发现她还把别人聊天逛街喝咖啡的时间用来进行艺术创作，而且朋友们惊讶于她的作品的深厚功力，不亚于名画家们的水平，于是他们开始向她索要她的油画，装裱后挂在家里，使家里增添了浓郁的艺术气息，一幅生动美丽的花卉油画，也让家居装饰散发着优雅艺术的氛围。慕名前来索要她的作品的人士越来越多，所以她的作品常常被预定一空，这些只能说明莫女士的作品越来越受到人们的喜爱与收藏。莫女士从小就是一个充满爱心的、能干的女子，父母做生意工作很忙，家里的其他姐妹都是她这个老大负责管理照顾的，她是那样细致宽容，又是那样充满爱与责任感，还是一个心灵手巧、艺术天赋极高的女子。

我们慨叹，她的用功，她的努力，她的执着，她的细致，她的勤奋。一个貌美如花的女子，一个散发着艺术气质的女子，一个充满灵气慧心的女子，相信她的作品会越来越好，越来越棒！

Bringing Art to Life

--Interview with painter & calligrapher Haiqi Mo

Dainty as daisies, elegant as orchids, of gentle serenity, of grace and warmth; this is the first impression artist Ms Haiqi Mo will give you. Observe her works, and you will find yourself enthralled by Mo’s profound level of artistic expertise and genuinely original creativity. It is easy to be captivated by the artist’s rich inner world through powerful colour combinations, lifelike approach to realism, and the utterly daring levels of expressiveness and hue.

When speaking of Mo’s artistic career, the most impressive factor is that it is entirely borne of personal interest, of her passion for art, all of her experiences and achievements from being self-taught. Born in Nanning, Guangxi, Mo moved to Hong Kong with her mother at the age of 5. Speaking of her growth as an artist, she recalls her grandfather whose love for art enthused her. Despite not growing up with him, Mo was often mesmerised by the creative atmosphere in his home when she returned to Guangxi to visit him, having the seed planted in her heart at a young age. Of course, it was also her natural talent and sense of inspiration that drove her to pick up the paintbrushes and sail across the endless oceans of artistic expression.

With art being her one true love, Mo selected jewellery design and appraisal as her major, continuously honing her visual art skills as she pursued her studies. After completing her studies, Mo entered the jewellery trade, taking on the role of jewellery and gemstone appraisal, but retaining the dream of becoming an artist and painter at the bottom of her heart all along. During the hours of free time out of work, she picked up the paintbrushes, prepared her heart and mind, gradually beginning to find her trains of thought and pathways of exploration, until the flow of creativity became unstoppable.

She discovered her unique interest in creating works of art, having fallen in love with painting and calligraphy from when she began with merely copy painting. From then onwards, Mo dedicated all her spare hours into focusing on her development as a visual artist, having spent massive amounts of time and energy into polishing her skills, constantly striving for self-improvement and achieving swift and solid progress at last.

She has developed her very own style in both painting and calligraphy – supple, exquisite, tender, her works radiating feminine charm. Her friends were all awestruck at the first sight of her works, being accustomed to her busy professional persona without realising that she has been using the time others reserve for shopping and getting coffee to create art. They began requesting her paintings to frame in their homes and introduce a sense of artistic wanderlust into their living spaces, causing her paintings to sell out often. This only shows that Mo’s works are becoming more popular and well-liked. This is a woman who moves us with her hard work, enthusiasm, determination, precision and diligence, a woman of true beauty and charisma, of many gifts and wisdoms. We truly believe that we will see better, greater works from her as time goes on.
