Up to 650,000 deaths annually are associated withrespiratory diseases from seasonal influenza, according to the World HealthOrganization. This year’s influenza season was particularly serious, with Chinareporting the most influenza infections since the 2009 pandemic. US CDCand China CDC have worked together on influenza for over 20 years on topicsincluding surveillance, vaccine policy, and avian influenza virus H7N9. Inhonor of #WorldHealthDay#, you are invited to join two influenza experts at theBeijing American Center to learn more about influenza. Dr. Carolyn Greene, theInfluenza Program Director for US CDC in Beijing, and Dr. FENG Luzhao, Chief ofRespiratory Infectious Diseases, Division for Infectious Diseases at China CDC,will discuss this most recent flu season and US-China collaborations oninfluenza. They will also discuss the best ways to protect yourself frombecoming infected with influenza. There will be ample time for audiencequestions after the talk.
