Dear Parents
Just a short note to inform you that we are delighted to inform you the government will begin building the new Canadian International School of Hefei this month! We are ecstatic that CISH announces the approval from the Government to move forward with the new construction of a K-12 school.
A new school is great for students and staff and hopefully it will bring more opportunities for your children. We will have a new cafeteria, a new theatre, the latest in music rooms, art rooms, brand new state of the art science labs and much more. Last year the CISH Parent Support Committee worked very hard to make this happen and we owe then a huge thank you!
There will be a few changes around the building because of the construction as the new school will be on the property adjacent to us. Our present outdoor basketball court will shut down for a period of time as they reconstruct this to become a soccer field and track surrounding it. Once we get the new school we will have another basketball area. They have already built a brick wall around the court for safety reasons.
Our CISH students will use the large field closest to the teacher residence for their outdoor playing space for the remainder of this year. We have assigned teacher supervisors to monitor this area when the students are outside.
When we are all moved in, it will be wonderful to have a new school befitting of the 21st Century that will enhance the talents and aspirations of all our students.

尊敬的家长，
很高兴通知您，这个月政府要开始动工建造合肥加拿大国际学校新校区了！我们非常高兴得到政府支持，推动了幼儿园到12年级新校区的建设。
建立新校区对所有学生和教职工都是一件好事，会给孩子带来更多机会。我们会在新校区里建自助餐厅，报告厅，音乐教室，美术教室，全新的艺术科学实验室以及更多其他设施。去年，合肥加拿大国际学校家长委员会为新校区的建立建言献策，对此我们表示非常感谢！
由于隔壁修建新校区，我们现在所在的校区周边会有些许改变。我们现在的户外篮球场会关闭一段时间，因为政府会把这改造成一个带跑道的足球场。新校区落成之后，我们会建新的篮球场。出于安全考虑，政府已经在篮球场周边砌了一堵砖墙。
现在到年末的这段时间，学生可以用教师公寓旁的操场进行户外活动。我们已经安排了执勤老师在孩子们户外活动的时候监管这片区域。
