This position is an integral part of the Greater China Trade Team and responsible for leading and co-ordinating the delivery of key trade events, industry training, and product development programmes for the Greater China Region.

You will be required to be organising Greater China Trade Events as well as trade training and manage the New Zealand Specialist Programme in China, to help Greater China trade team to achieve our goals, and effectively sharing Tourism New Zealand’s research information with the travel industry. You will also contribute to trade social media strategies, with a strong focus on WeChat’s multiple ecosystem.

To be successful you will have a relevant tertiary qualification in marketing, events management or tourism, with experience in tourism or internationally marketing and account Management. You will ideally have some tourism trade relationships in Greater China, and need to be fluent in Mandarin, and English.

Position Description
Our Story
Tourism New Zealand is a Crown Entity governed by nine Board members who are appointed by the Minister of Tourism. Our core leadership team, based in Auckland and Wellington has responsibility for the overall leadership and management of the organisation. Offshore, our in-market general managers oversee activity in the 12 international markets we are represented in.
Tourism New Zealand is the organisation responsible for marketing New Zealand to the world as a visitor destination. The major tool we use to do this is the 100% Pure New Zealand marketing campaign, a campaign that has evolved over the past 18+ years to make New Zealand one of the world's most well-respected tourism brands. Role Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to support and implement the delivery of local partnerships, industry training and events; New Zealand Specialist Programme; trade WeChat communication, and product development programmes.

Person Specification
·Relevant tertiary degree in Marketing, Event Management, Communications, Tourism or related Business Management discipline.
·Proven experience within business development/account management.
·Proven successful experience in the Chinese and New Zealand travel industry.
·Is able to travel regularly and frequently.
·Demonstrated interest and experience in travel and tourism.
·Demonstrated interpersonal and written communication ability in Mandarin/Cantonese and written Chinese.
·Is able to demonstrate an ability to organise self and team to achieve work programme, meet deadlines and manage conflicting deadlines and requirements.
·Demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships.
·A demonstrated commitment to the provision of quality services.
