What does it mean to belong to the Asian diaspora? How do authors negotiate the multiple identities of those caught “in-between?” Please join us at the Beijing American Center for an amazing opportunity to meet two Award-winning authors Shirley Lim (Malaysian American) and Karen Yamashita (Japanese American) in person. At the event, Shirley Lim will discuss "Chinese diasporic writing out of Southeast Asia: Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong" and Karen Yamashita will discuss "Literature as Community: The Turtle, Imagination, and the Journey Home."
This program will be conducted in English with Chinese simultaneous interpretation.

Doors will open 30 minutes before the program starts. Please try to arrive at least 15 minutes before the program starts to allow enough time to go through security. You will NOT be admitted if you arrive half an hour after the program has started.
