Welcome Services for new students

Sheffield Hallam University is pleased to offer a comprehensive range of welcome services to new international students who arrive in September.

The free airport pick up service will collect students arriving at Manchester Airport on the below dates and times:

Thursday 10 to Tuesday 15 September at 10.00am, 1.30pm and 5.00pm

It is essential that students book on to the service on our website.

Our Meet & Greet desk will be open 9.00am-6.00pm every day from 7 to 25 September and is the first point of contact at the University. It is located in the main University entrance opposite the Student Services Centre, level 5, Owen Building.

Students will find information about enrolment, connecting to Wi-Fi, opening a bank account, registering with the police and the University doctor and much more. We also organise lots of tours of Sheffield city centre as well as campus and social activities so students can meet new friends.

All new students should attend the free orientation programme which takes place from Wednesday 16 to Friday 18 September. The programme has information about studying in Sheffield and finding part-time work.

Sheffield Hallam University Appoints New Vice-Chancellor
Sheffield Hallam University has confirmed the appointment of Professor Chris Husbands as its new Vice-Chancellor from January 2016.

Professor Husbands is currently Vice Provost (Academic Development and London) and Director of the Institute of Education, University College London (UCL). He will take up the appointment in January 2016 when the current Vice-Chancellor Professor Philip Jones retires.

Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) reminder

In order for the Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) to be delivered to the University instead of a post office (for students applying for a visa to study at Sheffield Hallam University for more than 6 months), applicants need to enter code - 2HE352 in the Alternative Location field on the visa application online.

If this code is not entered then the BRP will be sent to a post office for collection.

We've sent a box of our new International and Undergraduate prospectuses out to you and you should receive these soon.

Please remember anyone can create a prospectus on our website which is then emailed as a PDF document.
