MSc International Business


Course Details

In Term 1 you will study four core modules; International Business, Marketing, Quantitative Methods for Business and Fundamentals of Economic Behaviour.

In Term 2 you will study two core modules (International Business Strategy and Strategy Analysis and Practice) and choose two elective modules allowing you to explore a specialist field.

In Term 3 and over the summer you will study one further elective module and complete your core content of International Business Research and the double weighted capstone module ‘Business in Practice’.

Elective modules
Our range of elective modules offers stimulating options for your elective choice. Please note that module availability may vary and that your first choice may not be guaranteed

Assessment
Assessment is a mix of exams, project work, and tests, with your capstone module bringing all your learning together.

Business in Practice
The Business in Practice module is designed to advance your personal skillset, and provide functional and industry expertise for your chosen career; in other words, it will be about developing your business expertise. The main aim will be to raise awareness of the different career pathways available to you, ways of advancing your skillset (and subsequently your career prospects), advancing your knowledge about the applicability of the knowledge and skills you develop on the programme.

The module involves contributions from faculty (including Professors of Practice), industry experts, and our CareersPlus & Corporate Relations team. Module assessment will be on an individual basis, will be carried out over the summer and will comprise of two pieces of work (an individual reflection journal, 1,500 words, and an individual in-depth firm analysis, 3,500 words).

Entry Requirements

Academic qualifications
You must have, or be expecting to obtain, a good undergraduate degree from a UK university, or overseas equivalent. This stream will suit a wide variety of candidates looking to break into business and we welcome applicants from all academic fields.

GMAT & GRE
We do not require a GMAT or GRE score but a well-balanced score (700+) may strengthen your application.

IELTS

7.0 - all four languages elements have to be scored 6.0+, with maximum of two language components at lowest level 6.0
