2014年8月23日晚，中国西南美国商会在总府皇冠假日酒店举办了美国驻成都总领事馆何孟德总领事告别晚宴暨美商会夏季联谊酒会。何孟德先生和领事馆全体官员长期以来对美商会会员公司在签证、中美商业合作和文化交流方面做出了巨大贡献。何孟德先生在任期间对加强西南地区与美国的经贸合作做出了很多贡献。同时，他也对美领馆的签证面签区域进行了扩建，使签证预约等待时间从30天左右缩减到3天左右。在他的大力支持下美国商会会员数增长了25%。在历届美国驻成都总领事中，何孟德先生是接待美国政府经贸团及高官最多的一位。中国西南美国商会本次酒会表达了对总领事和全体领馆官员的感谢。何孟德先生将回华盛顿美国国务院负责中国事务，希望不久将来再见到他。

何孟德先生于2011年9月起担任美国驻成都总领事馆总领事。作为一位有二十多年经验的美国国务院外交官， 他先前曾在美国驻中国、老挝、泰国和韩国大使馆任职，也曾在国务院华盛顿能源政策办公室、反恐怖主义办公室以及多边经济发展事务办公室工作。

On the evening of August 23rd 2014, AmCham Southwest held the Farewell Party for Consul General Peter Haymond & AmCham Summer Mixer at Crowne Plaza Chengdu City Center. Mr. Haymond and all the staff of the U.S. Consulate General in Chengdu have constantly supported AmCham members' visa application, business cooperation and cultural exchange between the U.S. and China. During Mr. Haymond’s tenure, he has made great contributions to promoting trade between Southwest China and the U.S. The number of visa interview windows has increased and the waiting time has been shortened from about 30 days to 3 days. With his great support, the membership of AmCham Southwest has grown by 25%. Among all the U.S. Consul Generals in Chengdu, He is the one who has received most U.S. Government trade delegations and senior officials. This event showed AmCham’s gratitude to the support provided by Mr. Haymond and all the staff of the US Consulate General in Chengdu. Mr. Haymond will go back to Washington to shoulder on responsibilities for China Affairs in the U.S. State Department.Hope to see him again in the near future.

Peter Haymond joined the Consulate General Chengdu team as Consul General in September 2011. A Department of State Foreign Service Officer for over 20 years, Mr. Haymond previously served at the U.S. embassies in China, Laos, Thailand and Korea. He has also worked in the State Department’s Washington offices of energy policy, counter terrorism, and multilateral economic development affairs.
