【2016逛美国】本周旅游提示:在美国旅游,通常都需要缴纳消费税

在美国旅游,不论是购物、餐厅用餐还是酒店住宿,通常都需要缴纳消费税(sales tax)。但与中国不同的是,在美国,商品的标价往往是不含税的。因此,消费者最后实际支付的总价往往会因为加上税费而有所上升。


全美范围内,加利福尼亚州、印地安那州和田纳西州征收的消费税最高。仅有五个州不征收消费税,分别是:俄勒冈州、阿拉斯加州、特拉华州、蒙大拿州和新罕布什尔州。

If you’re travelling in the US, no matter if you’re shopping, buying food, or renting a hotel, you usually need to pay a sales tax. However, unlike China, typically the listed price of a product does not include taxes. Therefore, consumers will often be surprised to find their purchases have become more expensive. 


In the entire US, California, Indiana and Tennessee have the highest sales tax. Only five states do not have a sales tax: Oregon, Alaska, Delaware, Montana and New Hampshire.
