The Marketing and Student Recruitment Manager will support the implementation of the Marketing strategies within universities / institutes for student recruitment, to translate these into campaign plans and execute these as marketing campaigns, in order to maximise the recruitment and conversion of quality high school / undergraduate / postgraduates students from local Universities / institutes within northern area to our clients. In particular, the post holder will have responsibility for all marketing, publicity and promotion of UKCN’s work, and maintain an overview of monitoring and evaluating systems used to reporting on activity, leading on further developments, working with the Data and Evaluation Co-ordinator. The campaigns / promotions will promote our quality products to market with focus predominantly on the prospective applicants. The objective of the campaigns / promotions will be to generate leads, enquiries and maxim the sales to ensure the business achieves challenging occupancy targets, in addition to build up the marketing awareness and increase the brand image within the region.
This is as a key decision making role within the team and the individual will need specialist knowledge of all elements of marketing and specifically acquisition marketing.
- Work with the Branch Manager and head office to develop, implement and review the Marketing strategies for student recruitment, increase brand awareness and generate leads in order to ensure that branch makes progress towards key strategic student recruitment and reach targets
- To support the business in development of the segment marketing strategy and plan in order to deliver the agreed acquisition targets
- Working with our Marketing Team, Admission Team and Consultancy Team to gain a solid understanding of the customer and acquisition drivers
- Analysing and interpreting information to form a deep understanding of the customer, which enables translation of insight into strategy & actionable plans
- Developing targeting and response models and defining media and marketing plans
- Lead responsibility, working with colleagues from Marketing and reporting directly to the Branch manager, edit and proof promotion materials and promotion of outreach activities for schools and colleges, including the website, school / college brochure, social media and digital developments and cooperation
- Ensuring tracking and reporting is in place for activity measuring, i.e. awareness, engagement, responses, leads, sales, conversion and ROI and using the output from this to drive efficiencies and improve effectiveness of future campaigns
- Develop and set up robust and co-ordinated plans for recording, reporting and evaluating the impact of all promotional materials, to inform future developments and continuous improvement
- Maintain an overview of market developments and materials provided by key competitors
- Overview of the Evaluation Plan and Framework for monitoring, evaluating and reporting on student recruitment outreach activity across the student lifecycle where appropriate
- Creating reports, presentations to communicate strategy and plans at all levels, including regularly presenting proposals and performance updates to business director and other managing board
- Responsibility for the Data and Evaluation
- Manage and oversee the workload
- Responsible for planning the effective use of an approved budget, tracking and reporting spend and return
- Responsibility for recruiting marketing officer and campus representatives
- Ensuring an effective operational engagement and communication strategy is in place, include regular visits to universities, attendance at area manager meetings and regular contact with area directors
- Lead and manage ad-hoc marketing business cases and projects from initiation through to delivery
- Awareness of potential market - an understanding of market segmentation and concepts of internal and external markets
- Minimum 1 year experience of marketing, student recruitment or other similar function
- Strong track record of getting business proposals developed, agreed and implemented
- A detailed understanding of target audiences, how they perceive UKCN, its competitors, and how they think and behave about the products
- Knowledge of marketing or student recruitment strategies
- Excellent planning and organisational abilities
- Experience of setting up recruitment events and all kind promotion affairs
- Solid budget management experience, as well as strong analytical and numerical skills required to understand and develop customers and product profitability
- Ability to think both strategically and commercially with a good understanding of overall business dynamics
- Computer literate preferably with knowledge of Microsoft Office and bespoke database applications
- Cross functional leadership skills, able to motivate and harness disparate functional skills
- Experience of database management
- Experience / knowledge / skills in e-marketing solutions, to include use of social networking sites for promotional campaigns
- Experience in education industry, specially in international high education recruitment - knowledge of sector markets
- Familiar with Chinese culture and good understanding of Chinese student consumer behaviour
- Experience of budget monitoring
- Experience of project management / team leadership / team management
- Native English speaker
- Understandable Mandarin communication skills (preferable)
