If you have a sharp analytical mind-set with experience in investigations; as well as the drive to develop in a leading intelligence area, join us as a Specialist in our Financial Crime Intelligence and Investigations unit (FCIIU). We're seeking someone with language skills in either Russian, Farsi, Arabic or Mandarin to join our ever-growing business area in this rare opportunity.

You'll play a key role in supporting the delivery of high quality prevention based intelligence function within our Financial Crime unit.

The global Financial Crime team brings together Anti Money Laundering, Sanctions, and Anti Bribery and Corruption professionals. We are responsible for defining the Financial Crime strategy for the bank, which includes setting policy which all our people must follow.

We have a vital role to play in protecting our customers and communities, providing Financial Crime advisory support across all our customer-facing businesses. We're also there to lend intelligence and investigations expertise to our businesses when they need it.

The FCIIU is the bank's independent centre of expertise, gathering crucial intelligence linked to areas such as money laundering and terrorist financing. 

Using your language skills, you'll be required to deliver Specialised Enhanced Due Diligence (SEDD) products and services which identify any potential risks and issues that would impact the bank. You'll be responsible for the production of a wide variety of intelligence material, using a range of existing and emerging sources. To do this, you'll be working with other areas in Financial Crime, the RBS Group and external contacts. You'll prepare a range of high quality products for a variety of audiences including senior managers and executives. 

You'll take responsibility for development and maintenance of a network of contacts, to allow the ease of the delivery of these products, and will successfully manage internal stakeholder relationships. 

-   Serving as a subject matter expert on SEDD products and services

-   Driving new forward thinking SEDD products, challenging current practices leading to great insight and improvement

-   Providing high quality SEDD reports

Key to this role will be your excellent analytical, investigative and research skills, and you'll need to come from a financial crime background with experience in enhanced due diligence reports. 

Your language ability (Russian, Farsi, Arabic or Mandarin)  must be to a level where you can carry out comprehensive investigations and write clear and detailed assessments and reports. While experience within an intelligence team, SEDD sector or similar specialist function would be an advantage. You'll need to be able to recognise and build sources and contacts, so effective networking skills and strong relationship management ability will be paramount.
