UBM is looking to expand the Group Strategy team with a senior strategy professional who will report directly to the Group Strategy Director. This role has a global remit covering EMEA, US & APAC therefore we’re looking for an individual who has a wealth of experience that can drive further innovation and deliver our "Events First" strategy working alongside our experienced team.
Key responsibilities
·Developing ‘enabling’ strategies, working with business - in particular on Digital, Data strategy, Mobile, Strategic partnerships, Innovation
·Leading Group-wide support and initiatives, working with Divisional leadership
·Developing and implementing portfolio / growth / customer frameworks and analysis
·Supporting Group and Divisional strategic planning process – being a challenger and expert resource for plan development
·Supporting strategic communications to the business; being an advocate for strategy
·Informing & supporting M&A strategy
·Preparing and leading materials for Strategy reviews
Required skills / experience
·6-10+ years strategy development experience, preferably to include experience at top-tier strategic consultancy
·Practical experience leading strategic solutions for global companies in fast-moving industries
·Experience developing strategy and seeing through to implementation/business change
·Experience of customer-centric segmentation, techniques and analytics
·High EQ skills, ability to engage and peer with senior business leaders, emerging gravitas
·Proficiency in Strategy tool kit (concepts, frameworks, analytical method) and strategy articulation
·Domain knowledge in digital and disruptive business models
·Able to bridge the gap between technology and commercial worlds, including business plan development and execution
·Highly growth orientated
·Analytical and commercially astute
·Strong PowerPoint skills as an executive communication tool
·International outlook, willingness to travel
·Mandarin speaker – nice to have but not essential
Requirements
·Fluent Chinese speaker and ideally some ability in Japanese
·Degree in Fine Arts with sensibility for design and architecture
·Knowledge of the tourist sector including tour guides and travel operators
·Demonstrable experience of at least two years’ retail experience preferably with a luxury brand in the UK and/or Asia
