April. 17th,  Canadian International School of Hefei (CISH) and Sino-Canada Concord School of HeFei High Tech Zone (SCCH) had the first fire evacuation drill of this semester.

为进一步加强学校安全工作，并检验学校安全演练效果，4月17日，合肥加拿大国际学校和合肥高新中加学校开展了一次全校突击消防疏散演练。此次演练在所有学生不知情的情况下突击进行。

At 9:45, as the alarm was on, all the students and teachers followed the proper protocol during the evacuation. The whole process was intense and swift and it took all members only 2 minutes and 50 seconds to evacuate to the safe area.

演练前校办公室结合实际情况认真细致的制订了演练活动方案，明确职责要求。上午9：45点随着警报声的响起，各班班主任和任课教师及时准确的到达指定位置并按照各自职责积极组织学生疏散。学生们用手、衣服等捂住口鼻，弯腰低头，沿着疏散路线快速撤离到操场安全地带，整个过程紧张有序，行动迅速。全部撤离仅用时短短2分50秒。

Peggy Gorman Mitchell, the Head of CISH and Patricia Lorrando, Acting Principal of Middle/High school in SCCSH,both had a few words for everyone，pointed out the importance of all kinds of evacuation drills and hoped our staff members continued to strive for perfection and ensured the safety of our students.

接着，国际学校校长Peggy Gorman Mitchell 女士对和中加学校中学部代理校长Patricia Larrondo 女士分别对此次安全疏散演练活动进行了总结。两位校长强调了应急疏散演练的重要意义，同时对本次演练活动的效果作出充分的肯定。

At the end of the evacuation, Li Jie, from the fire department of Hefei High Tech Zone gave us a training about how to use the extinguisher to our staff. Li Jie explained the common fire-fighting methods and right way of using various fire extinguishers according to different causes of fire. 

演练结束后，受邀前来的合肥市高新区消防大队的李杰参谋做了消防培训，由每个办公室安排一名安全员参加。李参谋对常用的灭火方法、各种灭火器的正确使用等消防知识进行了详细的讲解，并模拟火灾现场进行了灭火实战演练，教职工们也踊跃参与，运用掌握的消防知识和技能，使用手提式干粉灭火器，成功扑灭“火情”。

Through the fire drill and fire training, our fire safety awareness has been improved, and the expected goal of drill and training has been achieved.

通过此次消防演习及消防培训，合肥高新中加学校的消防安全意识得到了提高，消防知识得到了普及，熟悉掌握了灭火器材的操作方法，达到了演练及培训的预期目标。
