空气污染对环境的影响

当硫和氮污染被释放到大气中时，会转化为酸，然后通过灰尘和降水沉积到地表，对植物、土壤、鱼类以及其他动物造成破坏性影响。污染还可能导致有害的藻类大量繁殖，从而破坏或杀死水生生物。臭氧还会对植物造成损害，一些有害的空气污染物，如汞，可以远距离传播，并积聚在鱼类等野生生物的体内。当我们食用了体内积聚了汞和其他有害空气污染物的水生动物，这些污染物也会对我们的健康产生负面影响。

Environmental Impact of Air Pollution

Sulfur and nitrogen pollution are converted to acid when released into the atmosphere, which can then be deposited onto the earth through dust and precipitation and damage plants, soils, fish, and other animals. Pollution can also cause harmful algal blooms that damage or kill aquatic life. Ozone can also damage plants, and some hazardous air pollutants, such as mercury, can travel very long distances and accumulate in wildlife, such as fish. Mercury and other hazardous air pollutants can also negatively impact our health when we eat the aquatic animals in which they’ve accumulated.
