Dead When I Got Here - film screening and Q&A

简介：

Dead When I Got Here is an astonishing documentary about a run down mental institution in Juárez, Mexico, home to people that have nowhere else to go. It is managed by Josué, himself a former patient, who asks the filmmaker to help find the daughter he hasn't seen for 22 years. 

We are really pleased to share a rare screening of this intimate and compassionate film, whose images and questions will stay with you long after you leave.

Mark Aitken is a filmmaker, writer, photographer and Resonance Radio show host. The film lasts 72 minutes and it will be followed by a Q&A with director.

The film is being shown in our basement room which can only be reached down a flight of steps. We regret that there is no wheelchair, ramp or lift access to this building. The film contains some strong content, it has an advised PG rating.

Charing Cross Library's close neighbour is London's Chinatown - a focal point for the capital's Chinese diaspora and a popular tourist destination. Hear more about how history, urban regeneration and changes in migration and tourist expectations shape the capital's best known ethnic precinct and how the neighbourhood compares with Chinatowns around the world.

• 19:00-19:20：穿越70年时空的图书馆：通过图片一起回顾和探索4 Charing Cross Road的风尘岁月。 

• 19:20-20:00：来自东方的艺术。传统中国文化表演。

• The Lore of Tea: A talk on the traditional art of Chinese tea brewing, performance and tea tasting by Ms Weibo Jiang, Chinese National Certificate on Advance Tea Art and fine wines broker and educator.

• Traditional Chinese Tea tasting: Our guests are invited to sample the teas and cake following the talk.

• A Library Through Time: Discover the colourful history and secrets of number 4 Charing Cross Road.

• Artist from the East: A traditional Chinese culture performance. Artist to be confirmed.
