本题有两条线索，

1）时间线索：第二句的1920s and 1930s在第三句的World War II (1939-1945年)之前发生，第一句the war指代第三句的WWII第二次世界大战。所以，按照时间顺序可以排出，231。

2）飞机机型发展线索：先出现最简单原始的飞机，再发展到高级飞机。第二句的solo transatlantic flight是只能承载单人的飞行器。进展到第四句的carrying passengers是载人飞机。再进一步，随着越来越多的人用飞机，开始built airports。最后，出现rockets火箭。随着机型的一步步发展，我们可以看出，第四句，应该放在2和3之间。

本题是一道迷惑性很强的题。注意RO的题不一定是过去时先出现，然后再是现在时。本题就是一个倒叙的题型。仔细分析后，会发现两条线索。

1）语法指代词：第一次介绍主角，往往以全称的形式。第二次出现，用简称。第三次出现，用代词。比如：第一句，介绍Ne时，用的全称Mechanical engineering student Ne Tan。之后，第四句，用简称Ne。第二和第三句，开始用代词she或者her。那么，根据语法指代词，我们首先确定14。

2）时间指代词：第四句Monash College (在monash上过学的小伙伴懂得，monash college相当于大学一年级)，然后第二句a second year student大学二年级，之后是第三句third year of study大学三年级。所以是423的顺序。

3）综合两种线索词，我们得到答案：1423。

2）第三句it指代第四句的exploratory urge，进一步介绍不同种类动物探索欲。

3）再往下，开始举例子。很多同学问，为什么时512儿不是521。外国人的思维，在举例子时，一定要说完一种情况，再说另一种情况。比如：说莎士比亚死后埋在一座山上，下面会接着说这座山如何如何，说完后，再讲他的妻子也买在这座山上。外国人是不会先说莎士比亚死后埋在一座山上，他妻子也埋在这座山上，再说这座山如何的。外国人是一种单线思维，一定会解释完一种再说另一种的。所以，本题中，先介绍只吃一种食物的动物，再举例子说这样的动物有什么什么，然后再介绍吃多种食物的杂食性动物。

4）所以，本题的答案是43512。
