DESCRIPTION

I was born in Glasgow, graduated BA(hons) Painting from Gray's School of Art Aberdeen and then went on to study an MA in fine art at Chelsea College of Art. My work takes the form of painting sculpture and photography. The relationship between natural and man-made environments plays a significant role in the outcomes of my artwork. Recently I have been investigating ideas of ‘utopia’ and thinking about what my ideal city would consist of. I aim to question whether we will ever reach this utopian state of being. I am interested in combining ancient with the modern to create ambiguous structures- futuristic, primitive, eastern and western. They do not belong to any time or place but instead stand for a universal and timeless human dilemma for progress and change in our continuing quest to reach a perfect society.
