DESCRIPTION

I am a graphic designer from Greece, based in London. I graduated from the Technological Educational Institute of Athens in 2009 with a BA in Graphic Design and I have just completed the MA in Graphic Design at London College of Communication.

During my postgraduate studies in LCC I had the opportunity to combine my passion for music with graphic design, exploring communication design. From unit one, I approached the basic music symbols using design methodologies and transformed the traditional music score into a contemporary form.

Motivated by my previous research, my Major Project for MA focuses on the structure of classical orchestra music. The aim of this project is to offer additional information to a listener who wants to understand the process of an orchestra performance and the different parts which are contained. For the final outcome I have created a notation system presenting the first seconds of two symphonies visualised using four music elements such as pitch, time duration, instrumentation and dynamics of volume.

This year in LCC I got involved with various design techniques such as screen printing and bookbinding while through my projects I studied the principles of the design typologies, information design, notation systems and communication design. I am always looking forward to new opportunities which will enhance my knowledge and improve my experience in the field.
