Student Facility Management are seeking an ambitious, driven Student Accommodation Manager for their new prestigious, purpose built student accommodation schemes in Leicester.
The ideal candidate will be fluent in Chinese (due to the high volume of Chinese students within both accommodation sites) and be expected to operate both sites on a day-to-day basis (please note tat the sites are next door to each other). StudentFM is a growing student accommodation provider operating purpose built student accommodation schemes nationally both privately and in conjunction with universities. You will be expected to work in a multi-tasking manner and therefore as well as developing the core skills central to your role, you will be expected and need to gain experience across a range of other duties as directed by your line manager.
The role of Accommodation Manager requires a flexible approach to deliver the best service, which may involve at times working on other sites, working weekends and some out of hours cover. The successful candidate will be expected to create a working environment which encourages team work, energy and creativity.
- Ensuring the site is a safe environment to live and work
- Undertaking routine Health and Safety inspections in line with SFM company policy
- Responding to tenant maintenance requests in line with SFM procedure and timeframes
- Ensuring the safe running of the site in line with ANUK National Code of Standards
- Conducting regular inspections of the properties
- Being part of the out of hours service for emergencies
- Marketing, lettings and promotion of the site locally and nationally through various media as per the overall agreed marketing strategy
- Working with University Accommodation Teams and International Agents to provide a quality service to tenants
- Actively liaising with university staff for the benefit of the provision of services
- Provide all necessary reports as required
- Oversee the customer experience and maintain customer satisfaction
- Ensuring a warm welcome and quality service to all visitors and tenants
- Ensuring the Accommodation Team are well equipped to deal with all queries and upholding SFM’s customer service levels
- Ensuring all requested maintenance is dealt with in a timely and efficient manner
- Ensuring prompt collection of rents (and arrears) and minimizing arrears onsite
- Ensuring budgetary control at site and liaising with direct report
- Sourcing, assessing and evaluating suppliers and contractors to ensure the best value and service possible
- Maximizing revenue through alternate revenue streams
- Provide all necessary reports as required
- Being responsible for the continued training of onsite staff
- Working with Head Office to ensure all onsite staff records are maintained
- Responsibility of identifying, selecting and training student wardens
- Previous experience in a similar role (desirable)
- Knowledge of the higher education sector (desirable)
- Minimum of 4 GCSE’s (grades A-C or equivalent) (essential)
- Microsoft Office, general telephone and administrative skills (essential)
- Proven track record in first line management or senior supervisory position and able to communicate effectively in Chinese (essential)
- Self-starter and self-motivated (essential)
- Ability to take and give instruction (essential)
- Ability to deal with customers (essential)

No profile can be entirely comprehensive and the successful candidate will be expected to adapt and carry out such other duties as may be required from time to time, on the understanding that they will be within the individuals remit and capability, and consistent with the status and responsibilities of the role with the association.
- Salary: £17,000 - £20,000.00 dependent on experience
- Bonus scheme in place
- 37.5 hours per week
- 5 days out of 7 per week
