The Associated Press is one of the world’s largest and most trusted sources of independent news and information. Its video business has bureaux in more than 80 countries, and currently distributes global news, sport, entertainment, technology and lifestyles content to broadcast, online and mobile platforms. Video captured by AP can be seen by over half of the world’s population on any given day.
We are recruiting for one Editorial Customer Liaison position to join the Editorial Customer Liaison team. The team will be responsible for providing global support 24/7 to our video agency clients.
The Customer Liaison is a key newsroom role that mediates between customers and the AP Newsdesk, responding to queries/requests on editorial coverage and representing customer needs to editors; relaying information back and forth. The role involves constant interaction with customers to promote and advise on our editorial coverage. The position also entails regular proactive support on customer onboarding and training, pre-empting customer interests and fostering strong relations with key customers across the globe.
The successful candidate will need to have:
• Good editorial judgement;
• A solid knowledge of world affairs and the AP customer base (desirable);
• Strong customer-support/customer-facing skills;
• Good communication skills - both written and verbal;
• Good presentation skills (in person/online);
• Ability to work effectively with other people across teams and at all levels;
• Strong commercial acumen, to include an understanding of sales needs and the sales cycle (desirable);
• Knowledge of Salesforce, email marketing and Twitter (an advantage);
• Fluency in written and spoken English required
• Additional Asian languages also required, particularly Mandarin and Japanese.
This is a nights only position is based in Camden, London, on a four-on four-off shift pattern.
All applicants must be able to work in the UK or be able to gain permission to work in the UK.
