很多烤鸭关注雅思词汇量的问题，那么雅思学习需要多少词汇呢?

如果要拿高分，何止是要掌握8000啊，1万都不够，不过要是只需要过6分，掌握5500个单词以上已经足够了。

总起来说，雅思有别于TOEFL、CET4、CET6等其他考试，需要掌握的单词很难量化，IELTS考试听力部分选用的文章都来自英语国家的日常生活，因此并没有绝对的词汇数字，尽管没有绝对的单词总数设定，但单词量绝对不是最大的问题，只要掌握3000个关键词汇，就可以应对考卷的大部分内容。不过对于这3000个词汇的掌握，不仅仅是听说读写，更重要的是知道怎样去掌握和使用它们(active words)，熟练掌握3000个词汇可能比简单背诵10000个单词更有用。

1. social events (section 2)

会议、展览、节日等社会事件是在雅思听力section2经常考到的主题。在国外学生们经常会参加一些大型会议和活动，他们会从网页、单页、通知版和广告上了解活动的主题、日程安排、是否提供住宿餐饮等具体信息

由于环境类词汇专业性较强，不要求大家全部记忆下来，但雅思听力在词汇方面最重要的一点是能做到到对发音和中文意思比较敏感，这样即使不能听懂全部内容，也能对整体脉络有一个较好的把握。否则就好像是听到了科普类文章一样，茫然不知所措，进而导致完全放弃。
