Dear Parents or Guardians:

As an IB World Class School collaboration time for teachers at CISH is extremely important.For the school year 2018-2019 we have been working on early dismissal on Wednesday because under the IB philosophy and requirements we need to increase our collaboration time. The other IB schools in our network such as Canadian International Beijinghave collaboration time Friday at 2:30 PM until 4:30 PM and International School of Nanshan,Shenzhen have collaboration time Wednesday from 2:30 PM until 4:30 PM respectively.  We have been working very closely with the Parent Committee regarding needing early dismissal time for collaboration.  Also for collaboration time to happen we needed to confirm early busing could be arranged before informing parents. It has now been conformed this means we will have an early bus on Wednesday at 2:30 PM and a late bus on Wednesday at 4:30 PM. So two buses will run on Wednesday.

The IB Standards and Practices stresses collaborative planning is needed for the following reasons:

Collaborative planning and reflection addresses the requirements of the IB programme(s).

Collaborative planning and reflection must take place regularly and systematically.

Collaborative planning and reflection addresses vertical and horizontal articulation.

Collaborative planning and reflection ensures that all teachers have an overview of students’ learning experiences.

Collaborative planning and reflection is based on agreed expectations for student learning.

Collaborative planning and reflection incorporates differentiation for students' learning needs and styles.

Collaborative planning and reflection is informed by assessment of student work and learning.

Collaborative planning and reflection recognizes that all teachers are responsible for language development of students.

Collaborative planning and reflection addresses the IB learner profile attributes.

With IB standards and practices to be met regarding collaborative planning and reflection, there must be allotted time during the week where all teachers can meet.  To run a successful programme (a direct benefit to students), time must be dedicated for teachers to work together to ensure curricular and schoolwide goals are being met and best practices are being brought into our teaching and learning.With a World IB School  all staff need regular training to stay current and informed with best practices, changes to curriculum and while working collaboratively to be at their best with meeting the needs of all children.

ALL STAFF MUST ATTEND COLLABORATIVE MEETINGS EVERY WEDNESDAY from 2:30 – 4:30 PM.

The formation of the orchestra is not connected to our requirement from IB to have Collaborative Planning time. It happens both are on Wednesday but we will not know if the orchestra will be formed until we get the registrations. We must have the early dismissal to meet the IB requirements for Horizontal Grade Meetings (across grade levels) and Vertical grade meetings(across subjects).

K -  Grade 2 ,Wednesday at 3:30 PM- 4:30 PM

Grade 3 - Grade 6, Thursday at 3:30PM – 4:30 PM

Grade 7- Grade 10, Friday at 1:30 – 2:30 PM

亲爱的家长和监护人们，

作为一个IB世界级学校协作教研时间对于CISH尤为重要。我们一直在试图调整我们2018-2019学年周三的放学时间，因为根据IB的教育理念和要求我们学校需要增加老师的协作教研时间。我们所知的其他IB学校像北京加拿大国际学校每周周五下午2:30放学，放学后老师继续教研会议。深圳南山国际学校在每周三下午2:30至4: 30给老师们教研。另外我们也必须在确定校车在每周三下午可以提早发车的情况下才能向家长正式通知关于老师教研协作时间的安排。现在这一点已经被确认，也就是说下学年的每周三下午我们的早班校车将在2:30出发，对于部分自费参加活动并留校的学生，晚班校车将在4:30出发。

由于以下原因，IB的标准和实践强调老师教研协作会议的重要性：

1.      协作性规划和反思，确保课程满足IB(国际文凭项目)要求

2.      协作性的规划和反思必须定期和系统地进行

3.      协作性规划和反思能解决课程的横向(一致性)和纵向(连续性)联系问题

4.      协作性规划和反思确保所有的老师都了解学生学习情况

5.      基于对学生学习的一致期望进行协作性规划和反思

6.      协作性规划和反思融合了学生学习需求和风格的差异化

7.      通过评估学生的作业和学习情况来做协作性规划和反思

8.      协作性规划和反思认可所有老师都对学生的语言发展由责任

9.      协作性规划和反思确保IB学习者培养目标的满足

关于协作性计划和反思，根据IB要求和标准必须在每周有规定的时间让所有老师们教研。为了确保提供一个成功的教学课程（让学生直接收益），我们必须安排专门的时间让老师合作研讨，以确保课程和整个学校的目标得到满足，并将把教研后的内容融入到教学和学习中。对于IB世界学校来说所有的人员都需要接受定期的培训来保持老师对最新教学实践，课程体系革新的认识和跟进，同时让所有老师协作教研来满足所有学生的需求。

从下学年开始所有教师必须参加每周三下午2:30-4:30的协作教研会！

管弦乐队的成立和我们根据IB要求安排的协作教研时间没有关系。正巧两个事情被都安排到了周三，但是目前为止成立管弦乐队是我们的愿望，是否能真正运行在没有得到足够的报名表之前还未知。我们必须在下学年每周三提早放学来满足IB对纵向（跨年级）和横向（跨学科）教研的要求。
