1949年蒋介石来到台湾后，继续寻求美国的支持。但是，出于威权专制的个人私心，蒋介石既需要美国的支持和保护，又不愿意依据宪法规定放弃自己的专制权力而主动融入二战之后由美国主导建立的全球体系。在这样的大背景下，希望把台湾建设成为美国式样的“自由中国”的晚年胡适，便与蒋介石展开了一系列依法限权的宪政博弈。
本讲座主要包括三个方面的内容：1、二战之后的世界格局；2、蒋介石对美国又爱又恨的复杂情感；3、胡适与蒋介石的宪政博弈的美国背景。

The presentation will be conducted in Chinese.
After going to Taiwan in 1949, Chiang Kai-shek continued to seek support from the United States. Nonetheless, he was unwilling to abandon his own autocratic power in accordance with constitutional provisions nor take the initiative to integrate into the global system established by the United States after World War II. With this context as background, in his later years, Hu Shi, who hoped to build Taiwan into an American-style "Free China", launched a series of constitutional games with Chiang Kai-shek to limit his power according to the laws.
This lecture will include three primary aspects: 1. the post-World War II global system; 2. Chiang Kai-shek's complex feelings of love and hate for the United States; 3. America as backdrop in Hu Shi and Chiang Kai-shek’s constitutional game.

讲者简介：张耀杰先生是中国艺术研究院研究员，主要从事戏剧学研究和民国法政历史研究。主要著作有：《曹禺：戏里戏外》、《中国宪政运动史》、《民国红粉》、《北大教授与新青年》、《民初命案》、《喋血枭雄：改变历史的民国大案》等。
张先生的三卷本新著《胡适评议》已经在台湾正式出版。这是一部全面、真实、立体、生动的学术评传。本讲座的主要内容全部来自这部书稿。
张先生还曾参与《小关一家人》、《山河作证》、《农电之光》等数十部长短电视片的编创工作。
About Speaker: Zhang Yaojie is a Historical & Drama Research Fellow at the Chinese Academy of Arts. His research focuses on drama studies and the history of law and politics during the Republican period of China. His main works include: "Cao Yu: Drama Life", "Chinese Constitutionalism Movement History", "Gentlewomen of the Republic of China ", "Professors of Peking University and New Youth", "Murders In the Early Republic of China", and "The Major Cases that Changed the History of the Republic of China".
Mr. Zhang's new three-volume book "About Hu Shi – The People and Stories of Political and Academic Circles" has been published in Taiwan. This is a comprehensive academic biography full of vivid historical materials. The main contents of this lecture are all from this book.
Mr. Zhang also participated in the creation of dozens of long and short TV series, such as "Xiao Guan Family", "Mountains and Rivers Can Testify", and "The Light of Agricultural Electric Power".
