Speaker Bio:
As founder of Career Headspace LLC, Michelle Carl Rizal supports individuals who want to progress in their careers, take on a new challenge, shift into more meaningful work, or reinvent themselves. Having lived in Manila, Los Angeles, and Chicago and as a first-generation immigrant, Michelle believes in the value of each person's story and using strengths in navigating one's career.
A spark was lit while in college. Michelle discovered her interest in "work-life-happiness" and what it means to be inspired at work. She began her exploration by pursuing a seemingly-impossible career path in human resources. At Cardinal Health, she gained initial insight into organizational culture, recruiting and retention, talent management, and working for a publicly traded company. Her journey continued with a career transition to a challenging recruiting role in a global environment. At Accenture, she interviewed and recruited for roles in finance / accounting, entry-level consulting, and other positions. With a growing passion to help individuals succeed in their career journeys, Michelle reinvented and shifted into more meaningful work by pursuing a role in career services. At DePaul University, she advised and coached MBA and MS alumni and students on interviewing, networking, resume development, and career transitions. Michelle also directly worked with employers, so she shared her knowledge on what employers want and need in top talent.
Every role, experience, and lessons learned (those she wished she knew early on) emerged as the building blocks of where Michelle is today. With Career Headspace, Michelle is energized by coaching individuals through the transitions, blind spots and roadblocks, and twists and turns that arise in every career journey. Michelle graduated from the Marshall School of Business at University of Southern California (USC). She is also a Certified Career Management Coach and a Certified Brain-Based Success Coach.
