ArchitectureThe site is located in the Dagushan Mountain Holiday Resort in Dandong City, Liaoning Province. The south of the site is the road, and the north is the mountain. It has a very delightful landscape. So, both the entrances are in the south of the building. In front of the building ,there is a big square. The design is based on the structure. The concept is ‘dialogue between roof and ground’. The architectural modeling of the Tourist Center uses a form of sloping roof that is supported directly by the ground. The big sloping roof faces south to lead the views of the visitors on the mountain behind the building. For having a good landscape, the north facade uses the form of the vertical wall and is open to the valley. The structure has good stability and it also has changeability. In the south facade, the exposed structure develops rich levels together with the sloping roof. It complies with the ups and downs of the mountain, which integrates into the environment naturally. The form of sloping roof that is supported directly by the ground develop distinctive space. Even if you are on the second floor, you can still feel the influence that the sloping roof brings to the space. The structure decides that the building massing is a simple box. The building is divided into three parts. The east part is for office management and the west one is for food and beverage service. And the middle part is also the important one that is for exhibitions. Every part is a box and the inner space is combined by the boxes. In the different boxes, the feel will also be different.
