9月1日上午，加拿达外国语学校为2015学年一年级新生举行了极富中国传统文化色彩的开笔礼，家长们也兴致勃勃地参与了本次活动。诺大的科技室座无虚席，有不少家长更是站着观摩了全程逾一个小时的开笔礼。
On the morning of 9th September, Canadian Foreign Language School hosted its annual First Writing Ceremony for its 2015 grade one new students. The ceremony was full of traditional values and many parents took part in the activities. The whole auditorium was packed with many parents stood for over an hour to witness and participate in their children’s first steps.
开笔礼由国学老师宁永生主持，整个过程共分六个环节：尊孔仪式、启智仪式、开笔仪式、拜师仪式、吟诵仪式、击鼓仪式。在此之前，郑校长作了热情洋溢的讲话，言简意赅地阐明了开笔礼的含义及其意义。接着是尊孔仪式，由郑校长、谢主任、和学生代表杨诗琪带领大家向孔子图像三鞠躬，庄严虔诚地表达了对大成至圣先师的尊崇情怀。然后是启智仪式，由一年级各位班主任为本班孩子点朱砂，祝愿孩子们从此心明眼亮，读书明理，志存高远，修齐治平。第三个环节是开笔仪式，由中国书法家协会会员，中国硬笔书法协会教育委员会副秘书长黎兴华先生为一年级学生授笔开笔，学写“人”字，黎先生告诫一年级的小同学们，要端端正正写字，堂堂正正做人。第四个环节是拜师仪式，全体一年级的老师站在台前，接受一年级同学的三鞠躬礼，彰显了师道尊严的古训。第五个环节是二年级的部分学生的吟诵表演，10多个二年级一班同学，身着汉服，齐声吟诵了《三字经》的部分内容，吟诵调优美清新，动作张弛有度，博得了一年级小同学的阵阵掌声。最后，在铿锵的鼓声中和简洁有力的口号声中，结束了开笔礼。
The First Writing Ceremony was chaired by the Sinology teacher, Mr. NingYongsheng, and it contents were divided into six parts：Learn to respect, learn to think, learn to write, learn to care, learn to read ending with drum rolls. Before this, Principle Zheng opened with a heartwarming speech and explained the meaning and purpose of the First Writing Ceremony. The learn to respect was teachers leading students to pay respects to the famous Chinese historian Kong Zi. Next was the learn to think ceremony. This was where the class mentors gave the students their first wisdom spot. The third ceremony First Writing ceremony was enhanced by the presence of Mr. Liang Xinhua, member of China Calligraphy association, vice-president of the Ministry of Education, as he helpful the grade ones to write the ‘people’ character to remind them neat writing leads to becoming a better man. The next part was where the students gave their mentors three bow to acknowledge them as their teacher. Next, the grade twos preformed a reading piece wearing traditional Chinese clothes and read the <san zijin> with power and clarity, receiving rounds of applause from the students and parents alike. With rounds of drum roll and the chanting of the students, the ceremony comes to a conclusion.
这是加拿达外国语学校的首届开笔礼，其间，家长在部分环节中积极参与，纷纷拍摄亲子照。开笔礼结束后，许多家长似乎还意犹未尽，热情地找相关老师畅谈体会，对加拿达学校弘扬国学，兼重西学的办学宗旨赞不绝口。
The participation of the parents for the ceremony was met with encouraging comments. Not only did they actively joined in the ceremony, taking pictures with their child, after it ended, they still went to great lengths to praise the school for its efforts and fully support the school’s combining eastern and western values!
