Art has been an essential means of portraying creativity throughout human history, but the definition of art has been debated, raising questions about who can truly create art, only those with talent or simply anyone. Personally, I agree with the idea that anyone can create art, as people can determine their own preferences on artistic value.

On one hand, people won’t pay admission or wait in queues to see just anything. Public consensus can usually determine what is considered special, as many will admire the work of a talented artist. This is why paintings like the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci and Starry Nights by Van Gogh are considered priceless and exhibited on permanent display for the public, only talented people can create works so widely admired.

Despite popular taste, what constitutes art can be a very personal opinion. While many agree on the masterpieces, individuals still have their personal taste. Some people prefer abstract works while others value realism; some people love classical music, while others like hip hop. As the popular saying goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and anyone can decide on their own what constitutes art.

In my view, personal preference means anyone can in fact create art. This can be illustrated by drawings hung on a family refrigerator, where parents adore the works of their children, regardless of how much talent was required to make them. My favourite teacup was decorated by my niece and nephew decorated, and that is why I value it as a masterpiece.

In conclusion, I believe anyone can create art, but the value associated with it can be determined on a personal and public scale.
