I am apolitical scientist in the Politics Department at the University ofVirginia.I study American politics—with focus on public opinion, political psychology,and gender, race & politics— and methodology—with focus on statisticalanalysis, research design, and experimental methods.
I joined thedepartment at UVA in the Fall of 2006; prior to that I've done a number ofthings in politics and policy. I held a tenure track position in the Government Department at Cornell for threeyears; worked as a policy researcher in Washington at Policy Studies Associates in Washington, DC. Before graduateschool, I worked as a political campaign consultant, also in Washington.
I received myPh.D. in political science from the political science department at the University ofMichiganin 2001, where my fields of study included American politics, methodology, andsocial theory.
My book, Dangerous Frames was publishedin 2008 by the University of Chicago Press. I've alsopublished articles in several journals.
尼古拉斯. 温特尔是一位政治学家，目前任教于弗吉尼亚大学政治系。他主要研究美国政治（研究重点是公共舆论，政治心理学，以及性别、种族与政治等方面）和方法论（研究重点是统计分析，研究设计和实验方法等方面）。
温特尔于2006年秋季加入弗吉尼亚大学政治系，此前他曾从事一系列与政治和政策相关的职业。他曾在康奈尔大学的政府学系担任预备终身教职达三年之久；也曾在首都华盛顿的政策研究联合会担任政策研究员；研究生毕业前，他还在华盛顿担任过政治竞选顾问。
2001年，他获得了密歇根大学政治学系的政治学博士学位，主要研究美国政治、方法论以及社会理论。
2008年，芝加哥大学出版社出版了他的著作，《危险的框架》。同时，他也在多种期刊上发表过文章。
