所有对动机的揣测都无助于心平气和的讨论，所以往往演变为互贴标签的骂战。
而雅思写作，最需要的就是心平气和、紧扣话题的讨论。这就是评分标准中Task Response为何如此重要的原因所在。
雅思作文是非常容易写偏题的。题目问你同不同意，你可能会去讨论利弊；题目让你讨论利弊，你可能会去提出解决方案。

Some people think that the increasing use of computers andmobile phones for communication has had a negative effect on young people’sreading and writing skills. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
It is argued that the ubiquitous use of computers and mobilephones has an adverse impact on young people’s reading and writing skills. Ipartially agree with this view.
People’s abilities to read and write, admittedly, aredecreasing thanks to the development of information and communicationtechnology. On the one hand, the internet is overloaded with information sothat people are provided with too many options to decide what to read. As aresult, they often choose to read snippets of information, browse throughwebpages or just glance at headlines. These reading habits cause them togradually lose the patience of finishing long articles and gaining deepinsights. On the other hand, a wealth of books and essays available onlineallow writers to frequently borrow ideas and expressions from others. Theiroriginality and creativity tend to diminish and they would struggle to writesomething in the absence of search engines. Also, the self-correction functionsof some word-processing software reduce people’s ability to write error-freesentences independently.
However, I believe that computers and mobile phones alsohave their virtues when it comes to literacy skills. The prevalence of e-booksmakes reading so convenient that people are able to have access to variouskinds of reading materials without the need to travel to bookstores andlibraries. Digital dictionaries enable foreign language learners to look up newwords in a more efficient way. Furthermore, online forums open up opportunitiesfor writers to earn a wider readership and exchange opinions with otherauthors. These are all conducive to improving people’s literacy levels.
To conclude, computers and mobile phones have both pros andcons with regard to people’s reading and writing skills, and it depends on howpeople make use of them.
