Job description

We are developing a new platform for farmers to remotely track their animals and I require a mobile phone app as part of the solution. Initially we will focus on Android only. The app will need to pull data from our web servers and present to the farmer the health and location information in a modern but simple user interface. Another feature will use Bluetooth for direct communication to the IOT tags. The work can be primarily done from home or out of our space in the Telstra building in Melbourne but you would need to be able to meet on a regular basis at our office (i.e. weekly).

We have a HUGE codebase spanning around 40 modules of a PHP/MySQL application suite designed for student and school administration in Australian primary and secondary schools. 

You will have a lot to learn about our applications and the way Aussie schools function. Ideally, we prefer someone available for a long-term position as there is a lot to learn. You'll be working with our existing tester and our Test Automation Lead. You need to be very good at analysing problems, and have a critical eye for how the system should work so that you can think laterally about how to test each function.
