进入考试季 － 许多同学都在准备SAC，内容是Persuasive Language Analysis。作者除了在文章中使用大量技巧，如inclusive language, emotive, statistics, repetition, irony等等以外，通常都会给文章配插图，以进一步达到说服读者支持同意他们的contention主张、立场。

例如，2017年VCE 高考，校长倡导抵制校园食品包装垃圾，在给全校师生以及家长的信中，他就是用了以下这副图片：

插图是作者的另一个说服技巧，它比文字更直观、信息量大。其用途就是帮助作者来深化他的contention。当我们知道了作者或演讲者的contention之后，就不难理解图片含义。我们先描述图片细节，记住：你所有描述的细节都是跟作者的主张要保持一致性、相关性！According to the image, we can see a mountain of black plastic bags which contain wastes and rubbish. And the dark sky is full of clouds.

作为读者，你看了有何感受？是不是难受得快窒息？是不是忧心忡忡？如果你这样想，作者的目的就达到了。So, the writer uses the shocking image or visual to create worries, stress, and sense of being suffocated, thus positioning the reader to agree with reduction of the plastic package of food because the rubbish on the campus is so harmful to the health of the school children, while it may pose threat to our environment.

所以，仔细端详插图的中央与背景，人物的动作、姿势、冷暖色调、光线、动植物等要素，将其与作者的主张联系起来。
