考过雅思,其实很简单
你只需要做到三点
1. “Using a bazooka to kill a pigeon.” Some of you are using too many words to express a simple concept. Remember to K.I.S.S. (Keep it Short and Simple)! If your essay is unreadable – i.e. the examiner is stressing out just to understand what you are trying to say – it is unlikely you will get a Band 7 or 8.
2. “Be pragmatic.” When you are brainstorming, only choose ideas that you are confident you can explain in-depth. You will not get any bonus points for choosing complicated or fancy-sounding concepts. Your job is simply write 250 (good words about a particular topic in 30-4 minutes. If you can do this with a minimum of grammar mistakes, and by answering what is asked in the essay question, you will easily get a 7+).
3. “Think before you write.” I’ve seen lots of essays recently, where students are taking what they have learnt in training and using it randomly without thinking about what they are writing. It is true that using fancy words and expression is an effective way to maximize your IELTS Writing score, however you will only get those extra points if you use them correctly. I have seen some students who have used fantastic sentence structures, but the message they were trying to express simply didn’t make sense.
This last point is especially important, since if what you write doesn’t make sense, your mark for both Task Response and Cohesion and Coherence (and possible Grammar too) will be affected!
