纽约公共图书馆(New York Public Library)建于1895年,至今已经有超过100年的历史,是美国最大的市立公共图书馆。



这里有超过5500万件藏品,包括1493年哥伦布宣布发现新大陆的信件、乔治华盛顿的告别演说原件等,是公认的、世界上最好的图书馆之一。

这个年龄段的书,许多都是和唱歌、跳舞、节奏感相关的,可以捕捉孩子敏感期。也有一本中文书推荐。

纽约公共图书馆的这分书单,充分考虑到少数族裔孩子对英文启蒙教育的需求,除了中英对照图书,也有英西对照图书。这方面让人觉得很赞。

三岁以后的选书明显故事性更强了,情节更加丰富,并且开始引入人物传记类型。依然会用和声音、音乐有关的主题,提高孩子的兴趣。《Tap Tap Boom Boom》是我很喜欢的一本。

纽约公共图书馆的这份书单,还特别注意让孩子们了解自己的城市,因此从新生儿的绘本就开始有讲述纽约的内容。这让人深深感到,“本地城市主题的优秀儿童绘本”,在中文童书领域,相对还是少一些的。
